Westerly Police conducted a canine demonstration, sharing "facts" about the "dog/man partnership" - one of the characteristics of choosing a puppy (about 4 months old) is based on whether he chases a ball; the puppy and "partner" go to training and live together; the dog thinks he is "playing" and receives his "toy" (a small black pillow seen in photos below) when he performs well. The following pictures show the police dog coming to his partner's aid when the "bad man" (person in the padded suit) resists arrest, and the police dog receives his toy for a job "Well Done" - he loves that toy. |
